Coinnect: the small, honest end of the sweepstakes app shelf
Nothing to buy, a working email free entry, and gift cards measured in single dollars. Modesty, it turns out, is a feature.
The closest thing in this field to a checkout-free model that is not our publisher's own product: no in-app purchases on either store, an email free entry that feeds the random drawings, and an operator that has quietly run the thing since 2015. The prizes are small on purpose, 11 states are excluded, and the marketing overstates the skill framing. Rank it for what it is: the small, honest end of the market.
Why this grade
2Pens Media, Inc., a small Illinois developer running Coinnect since 2015. Nothing to buy: no in-app purchases on either store, ad-funded, with an email AMOE into the random drawings. Named winners page updated continuously; payouts corroborated by dated store reviews on both stores. What it is
Coinnect (iOS: "Coinnect: Real Money Time Game"; Android: "Coinnect - Win Real Money Game") is a free timed match-3 puzzle app from 2Pens Media, Inc., a small web and app agency in Morton Grove, Illinois. The iOS app has been on the store since July 2015, and the version we checked shipped on August 31, 2026, the day of our research. It carried 12,487 iOS ratings at 4.6 and about 1,800 Play ratings at 4.4 that day.
The structure is a hybrid, and the official rules say so plainly: timed tournaments award small gift cards to top-ranking players roughly every four hours (a skill lane), while weekly Spin Wheel and Slot Machine promotional drawings and a monthly drawing pick winners at random from eligible entries (a chance lane). The chance lane is the sweepstakes, and it is the lane the free alternate method of entry feeds.
How free entry works
There is nothing to buy. Both store listings show no in-app purchases of any kind: no coin packs, no subscriptions, no starter bundles. The app is supported by optional rewarded video ads, which the rules say players may watch in exchange for coins, extra play, or a bonus promotional entry.
Entries come from completing matches and tournaments, automatically. The free alternate method of entry is an email: send your full name and Coinnect Player ID to support@coinnectapp.net with the subject line "Free Entry – Coinnect", limit one email entry per entry period, which is about every four hours. The rules state AMOE entries go into the same random drawing pools as everyone else's.
Two docks keep this from a perfect purity score. Eleven states are excluded outright (Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Louisiana, Montana, New York, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Tennessee), which makes the free path unusable for roughly a fifth of the country. And the email AMOE is rationed to one entry per period while in-app play earns entries continuously.
Prizes and the payout record
The prize economy is small and the operator does not pretend otherwise in its rules: $2 to $5 gift cards for the four-hourly tournaments, about $25 for the weekly drawings, and a $100 gift card monthly, fulfilled through Giftbit or an equivalent provider, with a PayPal option in the rules. The winners page we opened on August 31, 2026 listed winners by first name and last initial with dates through that same day, and claimed 312 gift cards and $1,344.00 paid out in the prior 30 days. Those figures are self-published, but they are unusually specific, updated continuously, and consistent with the drawing math.
Store reviews corroborate delivery in both directions. Dated 2026 reviews on both stores describe $5 and $25 cards arriving by email; a May 2025 reviewer said cards came through instantly. Others describe email-delivery failures, a confirmation-loop that blocked a withdrawal, and one long-term player's $104 balance from the app's earlier accrued-cash model that went unpaid for months and, per the reviewer's own follow-up, was sent via PayPal only after repeated public review updates; the operator appears to have replaced that accrued-cash model with instant small cards around 2025. We weigh both.
The marketing gap
The homepage says the app involves "no wagering, no slot machines, no chance-based outcomes." The official rules describe Spin Wheel and Slot Machine promotional drawings, both stores rate it 17+, Apple with gambling advisories and Google Play with a Cash Rewards descriptor, and the iOS genre includes Casino. We ranked the app on its rules, which are detailed and specific, not on its homepage, which is not. The same tension shows up in the store history: the iOS title has been renamed at least a dozen times since 2019, classic aggressive store optimization.
One structural gap matters for a ranking built on receipts: the rules contain no winners-list request provision for U.S. entrants. The self-published winners page partially fills that hole; a rules-level commitment would be better.
Who it is for
People who want the free-entry idea with zero ambiguity about money: there is no checkout to avoid because there is no checkout. The trade is prize size. If a $5 gift card every so often sounds like a pleasant side effect of a puzzle habit, this is the cleanest non-publisher option we ranked. If you live in one of the eleven excluded states, it is not an option at all, and if you want a shot at a prize that changes your week, the pool here is not built for that.
Responsible play still applies. The ad loop is dense, winners must respond within 48 hours or forfeit, and the FAQ mentions a redemption minimum without stating the number. Read the rules before you play. 18+ (19+ in AL and NE, 21+ in MS). Void where prohibited.
